My Penrose Cufflinks, My Lucky Charms

Every time I go out, I always bring my Penrose cufflinks with me. Whenever these cufflinks are inside my pocket, luck would usually be on my side. In fact when I bought them, I even won a Penrose shirt and the shipment fee was free as well. But winning the shirt was only one of the fortunate events that occurred.

While we were having our final exams, I was so scared since I never studied at all due to my fever. My Penrose cufflinks were inside my pocket while taking the exam and surprisingly, I passed!

There was also a time when I was preparing a case presentation in front of the class. The worst part was that the panelists were the school’s board of trustees. Anyone would surely be nervous with that scenario. But in the end, everything turned out okay maybe because I had my cufflinks with me.

The most unforgettable moment was when I was crossing the street and a vehicle was about to hit me. I really thought that I would die that time but the car managed to reach a full stop and I wasn’t even hit. I really had no idea if my Penrose cufflinks were behind all those fortunate events. But when I bring them with me, I don’t seem to place myself in a predicament.

Boots Was Just As Cheap As Primark

After finally realising that Boots was just as cheap as Primark to buy sunglasses from once you had picked up your voucher printing on the back of the receipt, I now have a much larger selection of glasses to choose from. Back in the day, when Primark sued to sell good products at a great price, I used to buy my glasses from there. However, since they have put their prices up and the quality of the products has gone down, I was starting to get a little peeved buying cheap sunglasses from them. Needless to say I was pretty chuffed to discover the deals that Boots did. I saw this lovely pair that were over 30, but since I had bought a packet of chewing gum to get a receipt printed off with a voucher on the back, the price was slashed in half! What a stroke of luck that was!

Husband is Far Sighted, I’m Near Sighted

What a combination we are, right? We are fortunate in some respects as my husband can get those “cheapie” non Prescription Glasses and a lot of money is saved because of that.

On the other hand there are my Prescription Glasses. These are quite expensive because of my eye problems. Just checking my receipts for when my last purchase of totally new glasses took place and it’s been four years. So it’s about time for the eye exam and then getting new lenses.

Notice I said “new lenses.” I don’t need frames this time around, because the ones I have are only a couple of months old. An emergency came up where I had broken the arm of my frames I had and come to find out (no surprise) that they “don’t make these anymore.” More money for new frames to the tune of 70-some bucks. But, because we had a special convention we were going to and I’m “blind as a bat” without my Prescription Glasses, there was no way around this dilemma other than purchasing new frames.

Homecoming Dance To Help Girl

A girl attending the John Carroll High School homecoming dance looked very healthy when she attended the occasion just a few months ago and has had a long road to recovery after a heart transplant just five years ago. After the surgery she had developed some side effects from the medication that had followed the surgery and when they did a scan on the girl they found that she had developed a lymphoma and she had to have treatment for it. Unfortunately the cancer returned recently and she was put back on chemotherapy to fight it.

The strength of the cancer this time around is apparently much stronger and she’s looking for a bone marrow match so that if the cancer goes into remission she can survive and recover fully. So far it’s been a tough road for the girl to walk as she had just recently had fun picking out homecoming dresses with her friends and attending the big event at her school’s yearly homecoming game. Now, however, she has been suffering from a number of ailments related to the time spent sick and was at one point unable to eat or drink because of issues with her esophagus and stomach.

Everyone who attended the homecoming game was encouraged to see if they were a match for a bone marrow donation and word was easily spread between classmates of the girl that it was easy to get tested to see if they were a match and could donate their bone marrow to help her recover.
